| Annotation: | The article presents review of the work of the scientific and practical roundtable «The welfare of population as a factor of competitiveness of Volgograd region», which was organized and hosted by the Department of economics and management of Volgograd Business Institute. The roundtable was attended by the municipal authorities, practitioners, teachers, post-graduate students, undergraduates, students of the universities of Volgograd. The article presents the most significant speeches on the issue under consideration. The need for further scientific studies of the issue is justified. The term «welfare» was specified; indicators of well-being were defined. Conclusions were made and proposals were developed for assessment and improvement of the well-being of population of the Volgograd region. |
