RETROSPECTIVE LOOK AT THE BANKING SYSTEM IN THE FORMATION OF METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO THE SOLUTION OF CONTEMPORARY PROBLEMS IN THE ECONOMY

The article made an attempt of theoretical justification of the changes in the banking system of the Russian Federation at the current stage. A retrospective analysis of «Roskombank» is made, which was the first and the only Soviet Russian private credit institution with foreign capital, and conducted its operations in Moscow in the period of the New Economic Policy from 1922 to 1924, and was transformed into the «Bank for Foreign Trade», known later as the Vneshtorgbank. Based on this analysis, the role and the place of private capital in the banking system of the country during the transition period, as well as features and trends of its further development are determined.
