ICT IN THE BRICS COUNTRIES: FROM STRATEGY TO COOPERATION

The article analyzes the various aspects of ICT development, including an analysis of the dynamics of the industry development, ratings, and government support measures. Key achievements and problematic issues of the countries in this field were identified. The level of ICT development in the BRICS countries as a base for transition to a digital economy, both individually and jointly, was investigated. The analysis revealed the advantages and imbalances among the BRICS countries in terms of ICT development. It revealed that the BRICS countries are at different stages of transition to the digital economy, and despite the clear leader of China, the rest countries have good chances. This article defines the possible directions of development that can become a reference point for technological breakthrough in the BRICS countries.
