In the modern conditions, the publishing and printing industry is one of the most vulnerable. The emergence of new technologies and substitute goods requires flexibility and the ability of all participants in the supply chain to adapt to the changing realities of the market. One of the sources of competitive advantage is reduction of logistics costs as a result of reduction of unit cost in the conditions of unstable demand and reduction of offset book production volumes. The use of other types of printing can reduce logistics costs. The classification of logistics costs in the supply chain of book production was made. The classification is carried out according to the following classification criteria: by participants of the supply chain, by functional areas of logistics — supply, production, sales, by flows, movement and change of which causes costs — material, financial and information. Further, the distinctive features of such types of printing as offset printing and digital printing are considered. The comparison is carried out according to the main criteria: the unit cost of the finished product, the features of the materials used, the possibility of production. A comparative analysis of logistics costs at each stage of book creation, depending on the use of offset, digital or hybrid printing. On the basis of this analysis an additional comparison of logistics costs using offset printing and printing-on-demand was made. |
