In the conditions of aggravation of the problem of socio-economic and political relations in the Russian society inevitably there are factors that affect the emotional state and well-being of the younger generation. As a result, teachers and psychologists are forced to focus not only on the education of General human culture, but also on the care of the health of young people. The article actualizes the problem of formation of health culture in students with disabilities. The author considers the concept of health culture, as well as students of this category within the concept of professional culture and ways to achieve it. The article considers the main mechanisms of formation of health culture, as well as the regulations and prerequisites that determine its formation. The main channel of introduction to the values of physical culture of disabled people and persons with disabilities (disabled from birth or disabled in childhood) is adaptive physical education. From other types of education physical differs in that it is based on an orderly training of motor actions, the development of physical abilities and the formation of related knowledge. A specific feature of adaptive physical education is that the object of pedagogical influences is a student with purely individual properties caused by pathological disorders in development (sensory, motor, intellectual, combined forms), which always negatively affects the motor function, physical development, physical fitness, ability to learn movements, resolving power of psychomotor manifestations, etc., which undoubtedly requires individual correction of pedagogical influences. The author also approaches the formation of health culture of students with disabilities through the need to take into account the development of professionally important qualities and competencies in the formation of health culture.
