INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES OF TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF PERSONNEL FOR THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

Annotation:

The article focuses on the problem of information and communication technologies application in the professional training of specialists for the digital economy. The author reveals the practical focus of authentic resources in teaching a foreign language, which enhance students’ educational activity, integrate them into the digital environment, and contribute to the formation of communicative competence. The article provides options for a successful application of information technologies in professional training of students of the department of Economics, presents the platform of professional foreign language training “My English Lab” and analyzes the possibility of its application in educational process. The article justifies the use of online resources in educational process, primarily digital learning platforms, which complement the printed versions of textbooks; online resources of British Council and publishers (Pearson, Cambridge University Press, Macmillan); authentic materials drawn from periodicals (“The Economist”, “The Guardian”, “Forbes”, “Bloomberg”); webinars, forums that enhance the participation of both teachers and students in the digital educational space. The article suggests guidelines concerning integrating digital resources into educational process and proves that the organization of educational activity in foreign language classes based on electronic educational resources promotes professional socialization and self-organization of students. Despite some difficulties, the author emphasizes the importance of teacher participation in “digitalization of learning”, which contributes to the efficiency of foreign language training.
