The article analyzes migration processes in the post-Soviet space in the context of their impact on the course and pace of economic integration within the Eurasian Economic Union. The author identifies five key stages of migration in the CIS, including the current trends, taking into account the balance of migration exchange. For each stage, the author identifies the causes of migration, ethno-national composition of migrants and the structure of migration flows. Special attention is paid to the ranking of donor countries of migrants in the post-Soviet space. It is extremely important that the article deals with the geopolitical consequences of the collapse of the Soviet Union — a circumstance that still affects labor migration in the CIS due to not only economic factors, but also socio-cultural, taking into account the fact that for a little less than 30 years the representatives of the Soviet republics were a single people, and labor migration was exclusively internal. The paper presents detailed statistical data on the dynamics of migration flows in the post-Soviet space since 1990. In addition, the article assesses the future prospects of the EAEU development in the conditions of intensification of economic processes within the single economic space. The author of the study analyzes the Eurasian Economic Union as a new stage of integration processes in the post-Soviet space, which will ensure the gradual harmonization of national legislation in terms of migration regulation and common customs and tariff policy, which will strengthen the pace of economic exchanges. In conclusion, the article emphasizes that the free movement of labor as a factor of production could be considered as one of the key aspects of the effective functioning of the EAEU as an integration association.
