ON THE CONCEPT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY

To strengthen its position in the global market in the context of globalization, Russia needs to pay special attention to protecting its economic interests and, above all, to improving economic security. The concept of “economic security” is relatively new to Russia. In Western literature, economic security is closely associated with the concepts of economic dependence and independence, stability and instability, they attach great importance to economic sovereignty and the problems of economic pressure on each other. In Russian practice, a single approach to determining the essence of this concept has not been developed. The article analyzes the literature on economic security and attempts to analyze, generalize and systematize the existing concepts of economic security. Based on the results of the work done, a grouping of existing definitions in two approaches is proposed. The first considers economic security in statics as a state of absence of real and potential danger. But this approach does not reflect the full significance of this phenomenon and has significant drawbacks. The second approach takes these disadvantages into account. According to this approach, economic security is viewed in dynamics as a system that constantly interacts with the environment and strives for development and self-improvement. The results of this work will help to systematize knowledge about the economic security of the state, as well as provide an opportunity to use the results and conclusions to formulate an actual definition, taking into account modern realities. Future research will be aimed at identifying elements of the system, regulatory mechanisms and ways to increase the economic security of the state, as well as identifying external and internal threats.
