THEORETICAL JUSTIFICATION OF THE CATEGORY “YOUTH TOURISM” AS A SOCIO-ECONOMIC PHENOMENON

Annotation:

The article reveals the definition of “youth tourism” as a socioeconomic phenomenon and a promising sector of the world tourism market, describes the types of youth tourism in the area of modern tourist services. The relevance of the study is due to the growing interest in youth tourism and its popularization, as indicated by a number of current legislative acts of the federal and regional levels. All this confirms the need to study the issues of youth tourism at the level of theory and practice. The theoretical substantiation of the category “youth tourism” in the socio-economic content is carried out, its types are determined, prospects for further research of the problem under consideration are proposed, which makes a certain contribution to the theory of tourism. The key conclusions are as follows: youth tourism combines the ability to satisfy various leisure needs and socialize its participants through the actualization of historical memory, broadening the horizons, the formation of humanistic thinking and worldview, rational organization of free time, health improvement, patriotic education. The main goal of this type of tourism is the all-round development, rational organization of leisure, psychophysical rehabilitation, personal health; the concept of “youth tourism” includes tourism focused primarily on meeting the needs of the population under 30; the dominant reasons for belonging to youth tourism are the age of the participants and the common goal of recreation; youth tourism is considered as an important content of the functioning of the entire tourism industry and youth social policy in modern socio-economic conditions; youth tourism includes mainly active types of tourism; the dominant factor in the development of youth tourism is ensuring the financial availability of the infrastructure of the tourism industry for young people.
