Annotation:

The efficiency of modern enterprises highly depends on the competencies of the staff, which means that the quality management of higher education, which largely determines the level of young professionals, is one of the most important problems of socio-economic development. The circle of stakeholders of higher education results is quite representative: students and their parents; teaching staff; employers; the state represented by its regulatory bodies. Achieving optimal satisfaction of the interests of various stakeholders is today the most important task of quality management of higher education. The COVID-19 pandemic was a definite challenge to the quality of higher education. Mass transfer of education to distance mode during the quarantine period clearly showed the pros and cons of this format of work in the context of the quality of education. The opinions that have appeared on this topic in scientific publications require further deepening and generalization. Quality management of modern higher education exists in the context of the existence of professional standards, along with state standards, and the existence, along with state accreditation of universities, of professional and public accreditation of the main professional educational programs. On the one hand, this creates opportunities for building a more effective university — employer dialogue, but on the other hand, it requires finding the optimal combination of these two approaches to assessing the quality of higher education. The article outlines a range of systemic problems that affect the quality management of higher education. The directions of solving these problems are proposed, the addressees of which are universities themselves, employer communities, and state regulatory bodies in the field of educatio
