Karate Setokan belongs to a complex coordination sport, which is characterized by a huge arsenal of techniques. Setokan karate classes contribute to the development of speed, stamina, flexibility, power and coordination abilities. One of the most significant physical qualities in Setokan karate is flexibility, which ensures freedom and economy of movement, increases the speed and force of impact, contributes to the effective, diverse and accurate execution of complex combination techniques. The specifics of karate Setokan involve performing warm-up exercises and stretches already in the initial phase of training, since this is immediately followed by performing movements in different planes at marginal amplitudes. The beginning of classes in Setokan karate falls on the age period of 7—9 years, and, as a rule, children with various levels of physical development and physical fitness take up Setokan karate. In the preparatory period of the training process of young karatists, the development of flexibility of muscles and the articular-ligamentous apparatus is of great importance, therefore, a lot of attention is paid to the development of flexibility. Learning leg swings, jumps, turns, kicks is simply impossible without preliminary stretching exercises. Scientific and methodological sources of literature are mainly devoted to the description of technology and some aspects of the teaching method, there are only a few recommendations for the development of flexibility of young karatists. The complex of stretching exercises for better flexibility developed by the authors is distinguished by the alternating execution of exercises of a static and dynamic nature. The inclusion of this complex in the educational and training process allows increasing the amplitude of a number of movements necessary for Setokan karate classes in 8—10 weeks, increasing the effectiveness of educational and training and competitive activities. |
