The article identifies, analyzes and describes non-verbal means of communication in the process of business communication of middle and senior managers in tourism and hospitality, determines the extent of their possession and use of non-verbal communication skills in their professional activities. As a result of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that for the productive work of a manager it is very important to have communicative competence, to know cultural norms, to understand communicative techniques and means, including non-verbal ones, to be able to use them competently and adequately to the situation. Mastering the skills of non-verbal communication is a great help in the process of business communication of managers, economists, entrepreneurs. Knowledge of the basics of non-verbal language can help them make the right decision in the process of concluding deals, successfully negotiate or sign mutually beneficial contracts. Competent and adequate use of “body language” helps to make a positive impression, to create the right self-presentation, when others will perceive a person as self-confident, competent, sincere, and open to dialogue. The tools of non-verbal language increase the persuasiveness of a speech by reinforcing it with appropriate non-verbal signals, making communication more trustworthy. Also, knowing the basic signals of lying (scratching the tip of the nose, rubbing the eyelid, constant coughing, covering the mouth with the hand, looking away, etc.) and reading them without taking them out of the context, you can find out the degree of sincerity of the business partner. That is why one should understand the importance of the non-verbal side of business communication and master the methods of using it in practice.
