SYSTEMATIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES TO THE CLASSIFICATION OF BUDGETS AND BUDGETING METHODS

Budgeting plays an important role in the management of an economic entity, as a properly planned budget enables the most efficient use of all available resources to achieve the goal of sustainable development of its activities. At the moment, there are a large number of approaches to the organization of budgeting, depending on the purpose of the organization, the timing of the budget and the type of economic activity. The digitalization process has become a new milestone in the development of budgeting methodology, thanks to which new approaches to budgeting have appeared, implemented through the functionality of IT technologies and various kinds of software that enable accurate forecasting of future cash flows and optimization of unit operations. However, without understanding the theoretical basis of budgeting, it is difficult to form an effective management system in a digital environment. Therefore, within the framework of this article, a literary review was conducted on the topic of ways to organize budgeting; the main approaches used to classify budgets depending on the classification feature were highlighted. The purpose of the article is to systematize scientific knowledge and approaches to budgeting in the form of a single infographic presentation of information. To achieve it, the following tasks were set: analysis of scientific literature on the topic; identification of the main methodological approaches to the organization of the budgeting process; identification of the main analytical groups for the classification of budgets and plans; combining the results of the analysis. The significance of the study is seen in an attempt to present various scientific approaches to budgeting in the form of infographic material that gives a general idea of approaches to budget classification, which can be applied in further research on improving the planning and budgeting process at the enterprise.
