Annotation:

The article focuses on the development of functional literacy during preschool years. The analysis of modern pedagogical research has shown that the result of the formation of functional literacy in a child depends on the quality of training at all levels of education. Due to the fact that a large percentage of preschool children attend various additional educational organizations, high demands are placed on the formation of certain professional competences among educators and teachers of additional education. The relevance of this study is determined by the insufficient scientific elaboration of the problem of the development of prerequisites for functional literacy of preschoolers in the conditions of additional education. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate the possibility of organizing work on the formation of prerequisites for functional literacy of preschoolers in additional education. In the course of the study, theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological, psychological and pedagogical literature was made. The study was carried out in two stages. At the first stage, the main theoretical and methodological foundations for designing a model for the organization of work on the formation of prerequisites for functional literacy of preschool children in additional education were determined, and at the second stage — the features of the work on the formation of those prerequisites.. As a result of the research, the theoretical justification of the need to develop and implement a model for the development prerequisites for functional literacy of preschool children in additional education was determined, the structure and content of the model were revealed. The implementation of this model will create optimal conditions for improving the qualitative indicators of the prerequisites for functional literacy of preschoolers, and will contribute to improving the efficiency of all subjects of the educational process.
