The article deals with managerial activity in connection with the experience and intentions of students. It is shown that professionalization as a process is accompanied by a change in personal qualities, properties and abilities that correspond to the structure and subject of professional activity. At the same time, subjective parameters, in particular experience and intentions, are not only the result, but also integrative prerequisites for self-assessment of compliance with the requirements of activity and oneself as a subject of professional activity. As empirical methods for studying the personal characteristics identified in the theoretical analysis, corresponding to managerial activity, such psychological methods were used: a five-factor personality questionnaire “BIG 5”, a self-actualization test (SAT), a method for quantitative research of personality self-esteem by S. A. Budassi, a method for studying the level of claims of personality Y. Schwartzlander. It has been empirically established that there are statistically significant differences in the level of expression of personal characteristics corresponding to managerial activity in different groups of students: with experience and intentions, with experience and without claims to a managerial position, without experience and with intentions, and also without experience and intentions. Correlation analysis of the interrelations of personal characteristics made it possible to establish in each group a different number, as well as similarities and differences between the connections. The group with managerial experience and applying for a position turned out to be the most different in terms of the structure of relationships from all the others. According to the results of a comparative analysis, they have a higher level of claims, are more flexible in behavior, and have higher self-esteem scores. Thus, experience and intentions as subjective characteristics generally reflect readiness for professional activity at the level of compliance with the personal qualities demanded in the field of management.
