The article reflects the main results of a study of the key characteristics of the professional activities of early childhood teachers, as educators with a unique specialization in working with children aged two months to three years. The research conducted by the author, based on the use of a set of complementary methods at the theoretical and empirical levels, reflects the view of teachers on their own professional activities and the difficulties they have. The object of the study is the professional activity of early childhood teachers; the subject is the key features and problems of the professional activity of early childhood teachers in modern conditions. The purpose of the study is to analyze the characteristics and problems of early childhood teachers` professional activities. The author has identified specific professional deficits of kindergarten teachers associated with their insufficient knowledge of adaptation and communication technologies, technologies for working with families of pupils and new approaches to working with children living in a digital environment. The main problems in the field of early childhood pedagogy are identified as: insufficiently accurate understanding of teachers about the characteristics of modern younger children, poor understanding of the features of early socialization and communication, lack of scientific and public recognition of early childhood teachers as a relatively independent professional group, lack of a system for training and advanced training of such teachers or its fragmented nature, rather weak development by teachers of the related specialties they need today. Based on the analysis of empirical data and literary sources on the research problem, a forecast of changes in early childhood pedagogy and the content of professional activities of specialists in modern sociocultural conditions is constructed. |
