The article is devoted to the relevance of studying
children’s subculture and its role in the socialization of chil-
dren, game traditions in children’s subculture. Various elements
of children’s subculture are considered, including games, toys
and children’s folklore. Particular attention is paid to game
traditions that help children develop communication skills,
assimilate cultural norms, and master social role and gender
behavior. The preferences of modern children in games and
toys, as well as the influence of urbanization and the media
environment on these preferences are explored. The importance
of taking into account children’s subculture in educational pro-
cesses to improve the quality of education and upbringing is
also discussed.
Based on the results of a survey of representatives of dif-
ferent age groups, partial preservation and at the same time
transformation of the content of games and preferred toys is
established depending on the social and economic situation.
Children today still love active outdoor activities, but the digi-
tal environment is beginning to have a greater influence on the
choice of games and toys. Modern game preferences are formed under the influ-
ence of the media industry and cultural changes, but a soft
toy, doll, and family and store games, according to the sur-
vey, remain relevant among children of the 21st century and
among those whose childhood was in the second half of
the 20th. Future teachers of preschool education partially
understand the content of the children’s subculture phenom-
enon; they can identify some elements based on their own
gaming and active community experiences in childhood (in
the early 2000s), but do not have a full-fledged scientific and
methodological base for taking into account children’s sub-
culture in the educational process to ensure comfortable and
age-appropriate development of children. |
