FEATURES OF TEACHING INFORMATICS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS AT A TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

In order to maintain the contingent of students and expand international cooperation, as well as to meet accreditation indicators, higher education institutions are forced to recruit not only Russian students, but also students from other countries both near and far abroad. When teaching academic disciplines to such students, a number of problems arise, the main of which is the language barrier, since many foreign students do not know Russian well, and teachers, as a rule, do not know foreign languages well and the presence of an interpreter in the classroom is not provided. In this regard, the article makes an attempt to systematize the problems of teaching foreign students, to generalize the experience of some higher education institutions in solving this problem when teaching information disciplines, in particular Informatics. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need for an interdisciplinary approach to solve the identified problems, including the development of new teaching methods, the adaptation of educational materials, the use of a variety of assessment methods and the creation of a support system for international students. The work is based on the analysis of the pedagogical experience of teachers and scientists of various higher education institutions with foreign students. A comprehensive analysis of the identified problems made it possible to develop and substantiate recommendations for methodologists and teaching staff of universities on the development and application of methods of teaching the academic discipline Informatics to foreign language students in the educational process. The implementation of the developed proposals will significantly improve the quality of classes by teachers and the level of assimilation of Informatics educational material by foreign students with different levels of Russian language proficiency.
