The aim of the study is to develop and test a system of career guidance activities aimed at obtaining engineering and pedagogical education in a pedagogical university. Scientific novelty consists in the use of modern formats of career guidance work based on an integrated approach, the use of practical classes and interaction with social partners. The article discusses the results of the study, showing the effectiveness of the developed activities that help improve schoolchildren’s understanding of the teaching profession and increase their motivation to obtain engineering and pedagogical education. The authors note the problem of a shortage of teaching staff in the Irkutsk region and insufficient awareness of schoolchildren about the prospects and opportunities of the teaching profession. To solve this problem, the authors propose the project “Engineering and Pedagogical Education Career Days”, including various career guidance events, such as professional trials, meetings with employers and successful teachers, public lectures, quizzes and quests. The project is designed for two academic years and includes three main stages: design, implementation and reflection. At the design stage, a round table with stakeholders is held, resulting in an action plan and the definition of conditions for their implementation. At the project implementation stage, events are held, including professional trials, aimed at immersing schoolchildren in the teaching profession. The final stage involves summing up the work, discussing further prospects for the development of the project and disseminating the accumulated experience. The results of the study show the effectiveness of the developed events, which contribute to schoolchildren’s better understanding of the teaching profession and increase their motivation to obtain engineering and pedagogical education. The article presents possible prospects for further research related to the development of new formats of professional choice events and their individualization. Thus, the article is a significant contribution to the development of career guidance work in the field of engineering and pedagogical education, offering practical recommendations and strategies for improving the conscious choice of a profession among schoolchildren.
