The article examines the question of the condi-
tioning of such characteristics of youth growing up as self-de-
termination and self-identification. The young man constructs
his self either through imitation of role models, or in practice
developing his own patterns of behavior. The authors explore
who fall into new role models for young people (media per-
sonalities, entrepreneurs, opinion leaders, and politicians)
and how they form values. Having studied the content of blogs
with millions of subscribers, among whom young people hold a
major percentage, a questionnaire was constructed, a study was
conducted, and the identified youth role models were shown.
On the same sample, the values of the respondents were also
investigated. The identified values do not coincide with tradi-
tional Russian ones, which is a contradiction and makes it difficult to work with young people. Ways of coordinating their
formation with recognized Russian spiritual and moral are
outlined. Mechanisms are proposed that will allow the forma-
tion of role models in accordance with the current state pol-
icy. The need to create special conditions for reorganization,
the introduction of technologies that will make it possible
to form these values as relevant, interesting and significant
for young people is shown. Young people are guided by pres-
tigious, socially approved values related to ambition, edu-
cation and efficiency. However, the question remains wheth-
er they are implemented in practice or are part of the trend
towards “glamorous productivity” and “self-presentation”.
Obviously, young people seek to create an image of success
based on the lifestyles of their social media role models rath-
er than actual achievements. For traditional spiritual, moral
and patriotic values to become attractive to young people,
it is necessary to introduce them into modern formats, rele-
vant examples and digital culture. It is necessary to ensure
that they are perceived as symbols of success, self-realization
and active life. |
