In recent years, a significant number of students with health problems have been enrolled in higher education institutions. Experts note a significant proportion of students in the special medical group in the total number of students; many have a history of chronic diseases. At the same time, the researchers found that the health of first-year students is weakened even before enrolling in university, since only 10-12% of schoolchildren are recognized as healthy. At the same time, students do not engage in physical education and sports additionally, and 18.2% do not regard low motor activity as a factor negatively affecting health. The result of this is poor physical development, low indicators of physical fitness of students after graduation, weak motivation for motor activity. The article presents a study of the life history and sports history of first-year students. The work also reflects the peculiarities of the organization of physical education in an educational school and the educational process at a university. It was found that about 70% of students were in the main health group at school, 6.7% of boys and 16.7% of girls were in a special group. It was recorded that physical education lessons were never replaced with other subjects in 40.9% of cases. The majority of the released schoolchildren were sitting on a bench (70.8%). As many as 66.7% of girls and 48.6% of were regularly engaged in sports in the last year; 16.2% of boys and 9.7% of girls had a sports category. At the university, 79.0% of boys and 90.3% of girls chose physical activity in accordance with their preferences. Students regard the workload as adequate to their state of health, a small part of the students (about 18-19%) consider it heavy. There was a decrease in the number of cases of deterioration in the well-being of students compared with schoolchildren. According to the authors, this is due to regular medical examination, timely detection of changes in the well-being of students and the possibility of choosing the type of physical activity appropriate to the state of health. |
