THE THEORETICAL ASPECT OF THE FORMATION OF PATRIOTIC VALUES AMONG ADOLESCENTS IN THE COURSE OF STUDYING THE SUBJECT “BASICS OF SAFETY AND DEFENSE OF THE MOTHERLAND”

| Annotation: | The relevance of the research problem is deter- mined by the need of society to solve the problems of educa- tion, the formation of civic and patriotic values as the basis for consolidating society and strengthening the state. The article provides a theoretical analysis and understanding of the con- cepts of patriotism and patriotic values. The authors determine the importance and role of patriotism among adolescents in the development of responsibility, initiative, and devotion to the Motherland, spiritual and intellectual potential of the individu- al. It is noted that patriotism as a spiritual and moral value of a person will always be reflected in his actions. The relationship between patriotism and the interest of students in studying the history, culture, and traditions of their country is determined. The topical issues of effective organization of patriotic educa- tion at school are outlined. It is shown that patriotism is closely connected with the practice of applying patriotic values, with how students perceive the teaching of the basics of patriotism within the framework of the subject Basics of safety and defense of the Motherland, and with the interest of students in studying history. One of the criteria for the manifestation of patriotism is devotion and love for one’s motherland, as well as self-sacrifice for the sake of its interests, vitality and courage, conscientious fulfillment of personal duty. Motivational, cognitive, creative, emotional-value, and activity components are highlighted in the structure of the formation of patriotic values. It is concluded that school and family play a vital role in the development of patri- otic feelings in children. For the effective formation of patriotic values among adolescents, it is advisable to use a set of methods and forms of education focused on development, self-improve- ment, and self-education as tools in the course of studying the subject “Basics of safety and defense of the Motherland”. | ||
