The article provides a brief analysis of historical and legal foundations of antitrust regulation. The author presents a review of cases of violation of antitrust laws, initiated and considered by the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia in the Volgograd Region in 2009-2010. This article contains an indication that one of the main activities of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia in the Volgograd region is to counteract abusive acts of dominant economic entities. The cases of violation of antimonopoly legislation presented in the article confirm the statement of the author that the major number of violations performed by the “monopolists” is constituted by the violations at the market of electric and thermal power transfer, oil and gas transportation via pipelines, as well as at the other markets in the state of natural monopoly. |
