DEVELOPMENT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY OF THE URAL REGION IN THE CONDITIONS OF THE WTO

Russia is the big exporter and the importer of some kinds of foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials. The largest commodity groups of the national food import produced within the country are meat, meat products and dairy products. The large dependence on import of the basic foodstuff reduces the level of food safety of the country, aggravates negative tendencies in the rural economics of the Russian Federation. The urgency of the presented research is specified by the necessity of development of domestic animal husbandry taking into account the change of the position of Russia in the world food market upon joining the WTO. The research has resulted in the conclusions regarding the appropriate measures of the state support of the agricultural-industrial complex, in particular the animal husbandry, in order to increase the self-provision of the regions with the foodstuff.
