Comprehensive assessment of the factors of the volgograd region resources formation

The article describes the cultural and historical potential of Volgograd region. The study of the tourism potential of the region should be based on a systematic approach that allows determining the comprehensive assessment of the factors of the tourist-recreational potential with regards to their interactions. Identification of the factors determining development of the regional tourism is based on the need of taking into account the natural, climatic, cultural, historical, and social factors, as well as logistical base of development of the regional tourism when assessing the tourist-recreational potential of Volgograd region. The issues of development of the Volgograd region tourist industry have been examined. The main problem hindering the Volgograd region tourism development is the low level of development of the tourist infrastructure of the region.
