HIGHER EDUCATION IN RUSSIA: STATUS, PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

| Annotation: | The article analyzes development of the system of education in Russia for recent years. The dynamics of the universities’ number is examined, as well as the number of faculty members and students. The author gives his own evaluation of the reform processes of education system in Russia. The key issues in the higher education system, especially in the system of control and supervision over the universities operation are identified in the article. The authors underline reduction of the education system, decreasing of accessibility of higher education for some population strata. The conclusion presents proposals for reforming the system of managing of the Russian education and its financing. |
