DYNAMICS OF THE NUMBER AND AGE AND GENDER STRUCTURE OF VOLGOGRAD REGION

| Annotation: | The article presents results of the research of dynamics of the rural and urban population of Volgograd region, as well as its age and gender structure in the period from 1990 to 2016. Number of population in the region is going down due to negative population growth since 1999; and due to migration outflow to other Russian regions since 2011. It was found that proportion of women in urban settlements is higher than in rural areas and such asymmetry is increased every year. The age structure of the Volgograd region population is unequally distributed, which influences such demographic processes as population aging. |
