A new method of estimating the labor potential of an employee using the theory of fuzzy sets is proposed. Existing approaches to assessing the worker’s labor potential are considered. It is specially noted that to assess the labor potential, instead of a single integrated assessment, several components of the labor potential must be considered. The advantages of two-component models of the labor potential estimation are noted: sufficiently high information content and convenience of visualization of evaluation results. To implement the two-component models of assessing the labor potential of the employee, it is proposed to use the apparatus of the theory of fuzzy sets. At the first stage of the proposed method of assessing the labor potential, an expert evaluation of individual characteristics (professional, personal, etc.) of the employee is made. The number of experts involved should be at least two (preferably three or more). The proposed model for assessing labor potential implies that a consolidated expert evaluation of the labor potential component is an additive convolution of the estimates of various experts with the corresponding weight coefficients. Instead of fixed values of weight coefficients, it is proposed to consider the entire set of admissible values of these coefficients. As a result, instead of a single assessment of the components of the labor potential, many possible estimates are obtained. To describe this set of estimates, a two-component fuzzy vector is introduced. We propose a constructive way of constructing the membership function of such a two-component fuzzy vector. Refusal to use fixed values of weight coefficients allows us to abandon the procedure of expert evaluation of these coefficients, which reduces the laboriousness of the labor force evaluation procedure and increases the objectivity of the estimates obtained.
