Annotation:

The author examines consolidation and concentration of the network trade as inevitable process resulted from organic growth of trade companies based on merger and acquisition transactions. Analysis of existing approaches is conducted, and the author’s view on the conceptual framework of the terms «consolidation» and «concentration» is provided, the reasons determining necessity of the trade industry consolidation are analyzed. The author considers market consolidation enforcement accompanied with the market concentration enhancement as the opportunity of manifestation of the economic entities market power and as a tool limiting competition at the consumer market.
