FEATURES OF TASKING OF THE INTERNAL ROUND OF THE OLYMPIAD IN GEOGRAPHY FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN

Annotation:

The article is devoted to the preparation of tasks of school competitions in geography. This is an urgent problem, because every year in our country competitions of different levels are held, for which it is required to make tasks. The initial data for its writing were the tasks of the geographical Olympiad held in the VSPU for 10 years, and the analysis of their implementation by the participants. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the tasks of the full‑time stage of the Olympics, which may differ significantly from the tasks of the correspondence stage. For them, the speed of verification, the simplicity of the wording of the answers, entertaining for the participants is important. The level of difficulty is usually lower than the tasks of the correspondence stage. The aim of the study is to determine the types of tasks to be used at the Olympics in the following years. During the pedagogical experiment at the 10 Olympiads held by us there was a constant selection and approbation of new tasks. Types of tasks that were too complex or uninteresting were excluded from the following Olympiads. As a result, the types of tasks successfully used in several competitions were chosen: “Entertaining tasks”, “Labyrinth”, “Crosswords”, “Tasks for the analysis of geographical maps”, “Knowledge of geographical nomenclature”, “the Most”, “Geographical modeling”, “Geographical kaleidoscope”, “Questions on illustrations”, “Find out the region”. The results of the analysis of observance by the participants of the Olympiad tasks of the internal round of the Olympiad are analyzed to compile a job next year. This article will be of interest to University teachers and school teachers involved in the preparation and conduct of competitions in geography. It can help to Orient in a variety of Olympiad tasks and choose the most suitable types.
