Issues of ensuring economic security come to the fore in the conditions of turbulence of transition periods, increasing geopolitical threats, aggravation of the socio-political and economic situation, as well as in times of crisis in the world economy. Using the tools of critical generalization, the article presents the results of analysis of the existing domestic and foreign experience of economic security management in systems of various levels; it indicates the high relevance and expediency of forming a modern concept of ensuring economic security of the meso and macro-level systems. The results of the research also include an assessment of the effectiveness of using modern tools for monitoring economic security abroad and in Russia. At present, many countries of the world are on the way to transform and improve the system for monitoring the effectiveness of the national economy in General and economic security in particular in order to organize unhindered access to real-time information, as well as to conduct a comparative analysis of disparate data. In foreign practice, various approaches and methods used for diagnostics and monitoring of economic security of micro-, meso and macro-level objects have become widespread. The main ones include the following methods: NORDSTAT (common in the Nordic countries), DTLR (Great Britain), Local Welfare Management Systems (Sweden), VERTI (Finland). Problems of ensuring economic security and organizing an effective system for monitoring it are not a priority for many countries of the world, in contrast to national security issues, which are traditionally given increased attention. The key task facing the Governments of these countries is to preserve their sovereignty and sustainable economic development.
