The article explores the specifics of the detection and study of traces of crime, some problems with the implementation of such actions. Most often, traces that are the bearer of information about the event of the crime and the persons involved in it are found during the examination of the scene, unless, of course, we are talking about materially fixed traces. Traces, perceived by a person and stored in his memory, are revealed in other ways. The real problem in the modern world has become the increasing number of missing persons. In addition to the non-criminal reasons of disappearance, a large percentage is accounted for by the consequences of criminal acts. In most of these cases, the version of the death of the victims is well-tested, but at the same time, there is a lack of information about the location of the body, and the task of finding, detecting the corpse or its individual parts — as traces of a criminal event becomes important. Mobile devices under him can be used as a technical means of detecting the burial of the victim’s body. Another of the most pressing and complex problems in both forensics and forensic medicine is also the identification of unidentified corpses. In the investigation of crimes knitted using computer technology, there are difficulties and features of fixing electronic traces. The most common methods in expert practice are: emission qualitative and quantitative spectral analysis (especially in the study of explosives); laser micro spectral analysis (for the study of micro quantities of matter and the establishment of qualitative and quantitative element composition of a wide variety of traces without them Destruction); X-ray spectral analysis (to examine the traces of the shot); atomic-absorption analysis (to study the quantitative elemental composition of traces).
