TEACHING METHODS AS A BASIS FOR GENERAL METHODOLOGY OF VOCAL TEACHING IN CHINA

Annotation:

Vocal art is an important part of the core curriculum of Chinese higher musical institutions. Effective vocal teaching requires an appropriate methodology which is a set of theoretical systems that are gradually accumulated and affect teaching practice. The main feature of this technique is a rigorous system that reflects all aspects of training, however, new and special methods and practices are gradually being incorporated into the system. The vocal teaching methodology in China includes teaching basic vocal skills, modeling vocal teaching, techniques of teaching singing and other unstructured methods. The results and the level of singing of students are improving in the process of forming and using the methodology in educational institutions in China. However, in concrete pedagogical practice, the methodology raises a large number of questions and disagreements among teachers. Different teaching methods lead to the fact that students face a variety of problems in the learning process. This current situation requires teachers to constantly study and research of methods while simultaneously providing high quality teaching for students. This article suggests the methodology, created on the basis of analysis and comparison of articles on the topic “Methods of vocal teaching in China” as well as literature about the pedagogy and psychology of vocal art. This article classifies vocal teaching methods and provides the complete vocal teaching methodology which consists of six most effective methods: explanation, demonstration, communicative and situational methods, observation and listening, practice.
