To solve the numerous difficulties faced by foreign students studying in a foreign country, this article suggests the use of innovative technology of project-oriented student teaching. Project-based learning is considered as an interactive form of teaching and one of the modern pedagogical technologies. This work differs from similar ones as in that the authors consider the possibility of implementing project activities at the very initial stage of training foreign students in the process of the Russian language teaching. The study suggests a number of projects that foreign students could create in the first year of studying Russian, that is, during the period when they have to face psychophysiological, educational and cognitive, linguistic, didactic, socio-cultural and other difficulties. Working on projects within a single educational discipline, students successfully overcome the problems of the adaptation period and gain certain skills that will give them the opportunity to successfully implement complex multidisciplinary projects in their senior years. At the initial stage of teaching foreign students in a Russian technical university, project activities help to use all types of speech activity, which contributes to a deep and effective learning the language. The research projects proposed in the article were tested at Moscow Polytechnic University and at Volgograd State Technical University. At the same time, according to the authors, they can be used in various educational institutions in the process of studying not only Russian, but also any other foreign language.
