ANALYSIS OF THE ARRAY OF PRINTED PUBLICATIONS ON SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN THE USSR IN THE PERIOD FROM 1930 TO 1965

The article analyzes the array of printed publications on the issues of secondary vocational education from 1930 to 1965. The output of printed materials is systematized according to the stages of development of the system of secondary vocational education: 1930—1941 as the time of the formation of the Soviet system of secondary vocational education, 1942—1948 as a period of crisis caused by the course and consequences of the Great Patriotic War, 1949—1958 — the stage of gradual restoration of the system of secondary vocational education, 1959—1965 the stage of functioning of the system of secondary vocational education in the pre-war form, which ended with the reform of 1966. The publications stored in the Russian State Library, published in the period from 1930 to 1965, for institutions of secondary vocational education in the branches of socialist construction of the USSR (industry and construction, transport and communications, agriculture, Soviet trade, economics, education, health care and art) are analyzed. The number (in %) of printed matter is calculated by its main types — textbooks, lecture texts, teaching aids, guidelines for teachers and students, discipline programs, instructional materials, etc. for each of the identified stages. It is stated that in the branch of “industry and construction” the greatest number of printed materials was published in the prewar period, in other periods the number of published literature was approximately the same and evenly distributed. A significant preponderance in the number of publications in the first period is observed in such sectors as agriculture and healthcare. In education, there was a leap in the number of print products, while in the other two time periods the number of outputs was much lower. The presented results of the analysis of printed materials of the study period in the field of secondary vocational education can become the basis for practical developments in the form of teaching aids for the professional activities of teachers of secondary vocational institutions.
