The article shows a way to form cognitive interest in younger schoolchildren. In accordance with the topic, we have chosen such areas of research as cognitive interests, teaching students mathematics, extracurricular activities. In our case, it is proposed to use new learning technologies. In pedagogical science, it has been proved that cognitive interest can be formed via interesting, original, problematic content of the material and with the help of active teaching methods. The group of stimuli contained in the second source of cognitive activity includes problem-based learning, practical research work, creative work, special teacher techniques (use of visual aids, entertainment). For the formation of cognitive interest among younger schoolchildren in mathematics lessons, we have chosen such conditions as an emotional learning environment, problem-based learning, an individual and differentiated approach to students, and productive communication between the teacher and students. The article notes that during the week of mathematics, younger schoolchildren were given original tasks that they solved and submitted via the Internet for verification. New tasks were also given via the Internet. The elements of competition, information technology, and the game helped to strengthen the interest of younger schoolchildren in mathematics, contributed to the manifestation of cognitive activity, and the acquisition of new knowledge. The article compares the levels of cognitive activity in the control and experimental groups. If before the experiment the level of cognitive activity was higher in the control group, then at the end of the experiment this level became higher in the experimental group. As a result, an increase in cognitive activity, hence interest, was proved. |
