Where does the love of one’s homeland begin? First of all, with love and respect for what was bequeathed by our grandfathers and fathers. Therefore, it is important to form an understanding in children that they themselves are a part of many, many generations of people, a part of the traditions of their people, a part of modern life, their future and the future of their small and large Homeland. For modern society, patriotic education of children at preschool age is the foundation of precisely the multicultural space that needs to be created in accordance with the new Federal State Educational Standard, which imposes requirements for combining education and upbringing into a holistic educational process, which is based on spiritual, moral and socio-cultural values, as well as primary ideas about the small Homeland and the Fatherland. In this regard, in the system of preschool education there is a need to determine the content, forms and methods of forming ideas among preschoolers about culture and moral values, nature and society, about Russia and about the small Homeland. Such tasks are implemented by various activities, one of which is to introduce the child to the culture of their people. The quality of cognition directly depends on the implementation of the local history principle in the educational process. Currently, the local history direction in education has received a new impetus for development, associated with increased attention from the authorities to education and patriotic education of the younger generation as a strategic potential for the future development of the country.
