The article is devoted to the problem of forming a stable motivation for reading in literature lessons and in extracurricular activities. This issue is relevant; therefore, domestic and foreign scientists investigate it. There is currently no comprehensive response to this issue. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop a system of work that would contribute to the formation of a stable motivation to read in schoolchildren. Such tasks as analyzing the effectiveness of methods that contribute to motivation to read, and developing a system of works aimed at increasing motivation to read and recommendations for its application are fulfilled. Scientific novelty of the study consists in bringing to the system of methods that increase motivation to read, developing a system of work aimed at creating a sustainable motivation to read among schoolchildren in literature classes. The article examines the main characteristics of motivation for reading, gives recommendations on its diagnosis in the form of a questionnaire: identifying reader activity and the focus of reader interest; checking the reader’s horizons and reading skills; positive or negative motivation to read; external or internal; stable or unstable. The study proposes a system of work on the formation of sustainable motivation for reading, which must contain the following components: joint work with parents; collaboration with libraries; opening the world of books to pupils; visiting literary museums; studying literary local history; work on organizing reading; creative tasks; methods related to modern information technologies and extracurricular activities. |
