Modern models of strategic planning have attracted a growing interest of scientists over the past twenty-five years. However, despite the numerous contributions of the expert community to the development in this field, to date there are still no effective strategic planning tools that correspond to the real needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Given the expansion of research on this topic, it is time to synthesize this diverse and multifaceted body of knowledge. The purpose of this article is to explore the current possibilities of modeling the strategic management of the company and to find opportunities for their adaptation for small and medium-sized enterprises, based on a universal template, requiring the manger to keep costs and time low. The authors’ hypothesis is that the existing tools and approaches to strategic planning often remain out of sight of the management of small and medium-sized companies, because they are cumbersome, require more cost and time, and are not universal. In this regard, the authors of the work set the following questions, the solution of which will help to achieve the goal: 1) study modern strategic approaches to planning, highlighting the main advantages and disadvantages of key models; 2) develop a comprehensive approach to the design of a universal tool for assessing the effectiveness of strategic planning; 3) present conclusions and recommendations for the further development of the designed approach. On the basis of the goal, the authors consider the previously formulated issues related to the approaches of strategic management of the firm and the development of a universal template model of strategic planning to the possibilities of small and medium-sized enterprises. A brief characteristic of modern templates of strategic management of the organization is given, their advantages and disadvantages are shown. It is noted how their application affects the company in the long and short term, as well as what difficulties arise in their application within small enterprises. The article will be of interest to a wide range of readers, practicing economists, students, graduate students and researchers, as well as civil servants and managers of companies. |
