THE METHODOLOGY OF USING THE EXERCISES-TABLES FOR TEACHING THE GENITIVE CASE OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE TO FOREIGN STUDENTS

The article attempts to develop a methodology for using tables as exercises aimed at developing the linguistic competence of foreign students. The purpose of the article is to justify the need to use non-traditional exercises to study the genitive case of nouns one of the most difficult in grammatical terms at the initial stage of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The exercises presented in the form of a table are typical and have a specific structure, containing the forms of words in the genitive case of the singular and plural and the nominative case of the singular and plural. The developed exercises are given in a sequence that allows one to logically, fully present the inflections of the genitive plural, work out and consolidate the skill of its formation, based on the examples given. The forms of the genitive are compared with the forms of the nominative case in order to teach students to distinguish between inflections of different cases that graphically have the same endings. On the basis of the control task, an experiment was conducted in order to identify the didactic possibilities of this type of exercise. The results obtained allowed the researchers to conclude that tables are effective as a means of organizing grammatical material when students master the genitive case of nouns at the pre-university stage of training. The proposed type of table exercises can be used to study other case forms and grammatical phenomena.
