The article justifies the role of civil identity and the need for its development among the younger generation of Russians. The emphasis is on the methodological aspects of organizing this process in the context of teaching the basics of life safety in grades 10—11. The author has developed and implemented a model for the development of the civil identity of high school students in their mastering the basics of life safety. The developed model of civil identity development in the school course of the basics of life safety embodies the ideas of culturology, humanization, system-activity approach, and also implements the principles of nature, culture, axiology, integration, educational events, and local history. The model itself has a systemic nature and integrates the target, meaningful, organizational, procedural and diagnostic components. Each component of the model is described in detail. The author’s concept is manifested in the organizational and procedural component, which reflects the logic of the development of civil identity among schoolchildren through a series of educational events related to the categories “attitude” — “knowledge” — “action” and corresponds to the structure of civic identity. A distinctive feature of educational events is their personal significance for students. Each category of educational events is revealed at an independent stage. The “attitude” events develop at the motivation and orientation stage; the “knowledge” events develop at the information and cognitive stage; the “action” events occur at the creative-activity stage. The article draws attention to the need to integrate classroom and extracurricular activities when organizing the process of developing civil identity among students in grades 10—11 in mastering the basics of life safety. Based on the structure of civil identity, given its integration nature, qualitative characteristics of the levels of its development among high school students are formulated. Three levels of civil identity development are proposed: high, medium, low |
