FORMATION OF METHODOLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF MASTERS IN SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS IN THE PROFILE “EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF LIFE SAFETY”

Annotation: The article is devoted to the current problem of training masters in the field of “Pedagogical Education” at the Faculty of Life Safety at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia”. The article presents the results of a study conducted in the period from 2011 to 2023, revealing the features of masters’ training from the perspective of the contextual competence approach. The formation of the content of master’s programs in the profile “Education in the field of life safety” was carried out through the integration of a methodological, practice-oriented educational module. The methodological, practice-oriented educational module is presented in the following academic disciplines: “Theoretical foundations and technologies of teaching in the field of life safety at a university”, “Modern problems of methods of teaching life safety”, “Technologies of teaching life safety in pedagogical education”, “Cultural and educational work in area of life safety”. The theoretical and methodological features of this strategy for developing methodological competence among masters are variability, non-linearity and an individual-oriented way of mastering the main professional educational program. The basic forms of activity of master students of in the field of life safety (educational-cognitive academic type, quasi-professional, educational-professional) in the educational process are presented. The content of contextual and cognitive competences, which are the fundamental elements of methodological competence, is determined. The study made it possible to obtain results that prove the success of expanding the theoretical content of masters’ training by including a practice-oriented educational module aimed at developing the methodological competence of future teachers. Finally, the results of the study are summed up and a conclusion is drawn about the need to introduce methodological content into the practice of training masters that contributes to the teacher’s readiness for the main types of his professional activities.
