RESEARCH ANALYSIS OF RUSSIAN TEENAGERS` LEISURE — VISUAL ANALYSIS BASED ON VOSviewer

Adolescents’ leisure is important for their development and adaptation in society. The present study is devoted to the exploratory analysis of Russian teenagers’ leisure using the VOSviewer-based visual analysis method. The number of academic research on youth leisure shows an upward trend from year to year, and the annual publication volume of academic articles on youth leisure in Russia from 2017 to 2023 remains at over 50 publications. The number of articles published by the majority of active authors, such as E. A. Belenkaya, E. V. Kharkovskaya, S. V. Markelova, Y. A. Parfenov and A. S. Fomina, was counted. The study of youth leisure is of great importance, as leisure contributes to the comprehensive development of young people, improves the quality of life of people and promotes social progress. When analyzing the period from 2004 to 2023, it is important to consider changes in the sociocultural environment, technological innovations and other factors. The study of socialization and cultural and leisure activities of children and adolescents requires a comprehensive approach and attention to their needs and interests. Starting from social, psychological, behavioral and other perspectives, this study examines youth leisure and development and discusses current youth leisure issues. The proposed approach to visual analysis using VOSviewer opens new opportunities for the study of leisure practices of Russian teenagers and contributes to the development in the field of sociology of leisure and youth culture.
