The article discusses the issues of optimizing coordination training in wrestling in general and belt wrestling in particular. Based on the analysis of scientific, methodological and specialized literature, a survey of coaches and a questionnaire of athletes, a methodology for coordinating the training of qualified belt wrestlers was developed, the means and methods of which were aimed at optimizing the development of their coordination abilities. The technique was implemented in the training process of qualified wrestlers as part of their physical training at the preparatory stage. The methodology consisted of two blocks. The first block included tools of a regulated nature. The second block included tools of a situational nature. All the tools used were performed under conditions of modeling competitive activity in both standard and non-standard situations during the course of duels. The study was conducted on the basis of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism (Kazan). The study involved 20 qualified belt wrestlers. The effectiveness of our proposed methodology was checked through testing, where the indicators of the development of coordination abilities in qualified belt wrestlers were evaluated. The assessment was carried out at the beginning and at the end of the experiment. At the end of the experiment, the results of testing the studied indicators in the wrestlers of the experimental group were better than in the athletes of the control group, and in all the studied indicators there were significant intergroup differences (p<0.05). For clarity, using the percentage increase at the end of the experiment for all the studied indicators in both groups, it can be stated that in the experimental group the range of increase in results was from 2.22 to 15.6%, and in the control group from 1 to 10.79%. Thus, the indicators obtained during the study period confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology and its application in the training process of qualified belt wrestlers can be considered appropriate.
