Annotation:

This study is aimed at describing the methodological support in the Foreign Language discipline at a military university, the roles and educational activities performed by teachers and students. The article reflects the main results of the study of the model of methodological support for teaching professional vocabulary to cadets. The conducted research is based on the use of a set of complementary methods at the empirical and theoretical levels: observation, analysis, synthesis, and modeling. The object of the study is methodological support for teaching a foreign language at a military university; the subject is the principles of implementing the model of methodological support in the context of modern requirements for the learning process, where the emphasis is on the formation of transversal skills and the development of reflexive abilities of cadets. The scientific contribution consists in describing the implementation of the principles of designing methodological support for foreign language training at a military university. Based on empirical observations, the study provides a description of the roles and educational activities performed by teachers and students in the learning process. The process of teaching a foreign language is considered from the point of view of Professor Jean Houssaye of the University of Rouen. In his model, the teacher, creating methodological support, is a guide in the acquisition of knowledge, in the formation of competences adapted to the needs of society, but meaningful for students. They are typically provided with a rich learning environment in which they can draw resources, engage in dialogue, and construct knowledge. The article examines three groups of issues: first of all, it is determined what the concept of methodological support includes; then the tools for constructing methodological support are analyzed; finally, the components of methodological support for educational activities in the discipline «Foreign Language» are identified.
