THE POTENTIAL OF THE ASSOCIATION OF GRADUATES IN THE FORMATION OF SOFT SKILLS

Annotation:

The article considers the importance of developing soft skills among students of higher educational institutions, especially in the context of training a modern specialist to meet the requirements of employers and the labor market. The article presents the results of a study conducted by the authors, based on which a number of key soft skills were identified that are most in demand among employers: self-organization, project thinking, critical thinking, and cognitive flexibility, and sociability, teamwork and selfeducation ability. The article examines the potential of the Association of Graduates of UPI, USU and UrFU in the formation of flexible skills. The authors understand the potential of the Association as a set of possibilities: intellectual, material, informational, ensuring the development and formation of students’ flexible skills necessary for a modern specialist to have a successful career in the modern world. The results of the research tasks are presented: analyzing the activities of University Graduate Associations for the formation of flexible skills, developing a Graduate Association program for the formation of flexible skills among university students and evaluating its effectiveness. A research design for the development of a program for the formation of flexible skills is presented, consisting of four stages: compiling a rating of the most in-demand flexible skills, determining effective practices for their formation, developing a program for the formation of flexible skills, determining test methods and testing the program for the formation of flexible skills. The authors have developed a program that includes a series of master classes and trainings. The proposed master classes are aimed at developing flexible skills. The speakers are graduates, members of the Alumni Association, who have become experts in their professional activities The article presents the results of testing the program for the level of formation of the following skills: “Self-organization”, “Cognitive flexibility” and “Critical thinking”. An increase in indicators for all tested skills is shown. The conclusion is made about the effectiveness of the program implementation.
