THE INFLUENCE OF EXTERNAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF GAS INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES

The article studies and analyzes in detail the state of the gas industry from the point of view of the influence of external factors of a social and economic nature. The instability of the economy and social tension due to the geopolitics of the difficult situation in the world leads to the need to find new ways and solutions in terms of management, development, and strategic planning of the industry. In this paper, a theoretical review of the scientific literature on sustainable development is conducted, especially in the gas industry. The dynamics of the gas industry development is considered in order to identify the most problematic points. The impact of socio-economic factors can be assessed by analyzing the current state of the gas industry, evaluating indicators in graphical form. It is emphasized that Russia is one of the main and largest suppliers of oil and gas products and services in the world market. The assessment of threats in the development of the Russian gas system allows for adequate forecasting and planning of further actions aimed at improving efficiency in the gas sector. The paper also considers such major socio-economic threats and factors of influence as political instability, global economic trends, changes in prices for gas and oil, other energy carriers, as well as the trend towards environmental safety within the framework of sustainable economic development. Such important aspects significantly affect fluctuations in gas supply and demand. In addition, attention is paid to investment activity in the industry. The results of the work are generalizing conclusions that emphasize the importance of assessing socio-economic factors and threats in the context of the sustainability of the gas industry at the present stage as it is important for the adaptation of gas enterprises in difficult conditions at the global level.
