ASPECTS OF IMPLEMENTING PEDAGOGICAL CONTROL IN A UNIVERSITY: NEW ENVIRONMENT — NEW OPPORTUNITIES

The article examines the possibilities of digital educational technologies in relation to their application to the implementation of pedagogical control in the format of blended and distance learning. The author considers the forms of control used in domestic higher education and abroad. Despite the differences in terminology, the purposes of applying current (formative) and intermediate (final or summative) control remain. The introduction of digital technologies in the educational process has influenced the methods and technologies of training and, as a result, the ways of exercising control and assessing students’ achievements. The article deals with the advantages of using digital technologies for exercising pedagogical control: objectivity of assessment, speed of processing the results of the completed task, increasing the cognitive interest of students. The author notes that the use of digital technologies for monitoring allows stimulating to a greater extent of students’ educational activity. The implementation of the educational process using digital platforms determines the need for students to have feedback, since the volume of class hours for direct communicative interaction between teachers and part-time students is much less, and independent completion of assignments requires a high level of students’ self-organization. The use of digital technologies for exercising pedagogical monitoring allows for diversifying assessment methods due to the ability to figure out weighed grades for completing tasks of varying content. The author focuses on the fact that the key role in preparing assessment materials, planning and organizing monitoring, and supporting students remains with the teacher.
