ORGANIZING PATRIOTIC WORK IN SPORTS UNIVERSITIES

Patriotic education of student youth in general and sports students in particular is an urgent problem. For the formation of citizenship and patriotism, physical development should occur in parallel with intellectual, spiritual and moral improvement. The article reveals the process of organizing patriotic work in a sports university. The author has studied scientific literature, paying special attention to the data of large sociological research on the preservation of collective memory of the World War II, and has come to disappointing conclusions about the decreasing role of this narrative among student youth. The celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory actualized a deep study of the role of sportsmen of Bashkiria. The idea of using this theme in the patriotic education of sports students arose. The conducted survey of knowledge on the history of the Great Victory and the heroic history of Bashkir sport showed an insufficient level of theoretical preparedness of sports university students while these topics have a great potential for patriotism education. Based on the questionnaire survey of students, the unpopular work formats among students were identified and it was decided to minimize them. The questionnaire revealed that students underestimated project activities. In the next six months the work on planning, organizing, motivation, and evaluation of intermediate and final results of patriotic education was carried out. Project activity in comparison with traditional forms of pedagogical technologies has an underestimated potential. The achievement of educational work goals depends on its competent organization. Students have great independence in choosing the object, means and methods of research, which forms their active position in the cognitive process and makes the project method effective, including in patriotic education.
