PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF YOUTH AND EDUCATIONAL TOURISM: MAIN APPROACHES TO UNDERSTANDING AND IMPLEMENTATION

The emergence of a multipolar world is an inevitable step in the human history, which marks the formation of new political and socio-economic sources of influence, represented both by state associations, such as the BRICS community, and independent nations. This process determines the need for a change of the educational paradigm in the training of the younger generation, which lies in the shift from traditional forms of management of educational systems. The article considers patriotic education as a basis for the consolidation of the Russian multicultural society, an education-al tool that contributes to the formation of Russian identity, and the popularization of national cultures. The vector for development in the next generations of Russian citizens of intercultural awareness, sense of patriotism, responsibility, and other aspects for the consolidation of peoples and ethnic groups living in a single multicultural state is proposed. Educational tourism is regarded as a practical component. It is a new field, but it has proved its socio-economic efficiency. One of the negative consequences of the “young character” of this direction is the lack of a full-fledged methodology. However, it is being actively developed by BRICS+ International School and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The examples of projects developed by these institutions are the International Competence Center and BRICS Travel, through which educational tourism programs are implemented with a focus on studying not only foreign, but also one’s own culture. The result of this study is methodological recommendations for the development of patriotic education programs and educational tourism.
